Beginners' Courses

New to archery? You've come to the right place! Our beginners courses are delivered by Archery GB qualified coaches, and are a great introduction to target archery for people with little or no experience at all.

Each course consists of four evening sessions, each lasting 1.5 hours. The course will introduce you to target archery, what to expect when you start shooting (including the basics of technique), and how to stay safe. This is a practical course and all equipment is provided. All sessions must be attended. The cost of the course is £65.

You should ensure that you wear tops with tight fighting sleeves and shoes must be enclosed.  If the course is run during the indoor season, then shoes must be suitable for wearing in a sports hall. Please note that, for safety reasons, Tweeddale Archers do not accept members younger than High School age.

All courses have a limited number of spaces, and they will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Courses must be booked and paid for in advance. Once you have completed the course you may apply for membership of the club, although it should be noted that completion of the course doesn't guarantee acceptance for membership and, if accepted, there may be a waiting list for membership.
